What is Goaltender Interference – I’m Confused!

The Toronto Maple Leafs have been at the center of some very confusing and interesting call by officials this week. On Monday, Austin Matthews was robbed of a goal because of goaltender interference. Was it interference per the rules? Many disagreed with the call, and then the controversy exploded more when on Wednesday night the Maple Leafs were victimized by the rule again. The Chicago Blackhawks scored a third period goal with a player laying on the back of goaltender Frederik Anderson. To the shock of Leafs coaching staff and players the goal counted. This one looked clearly like goaltender interference, but counted. I am confused?????

Twelve games tonight with six of them featuring teams on a second night of a back-to-back. That’s lots of travel and lots of fatigue. I really like Boston at home tonight against New Jersey. Colorado keeps out working opponents and tonight Montreal is next on the list. Lots fo games with the potential of high scores.

I Hate NHL Bye Week!

Because of the NHL/NHLPA CBA agreement each NHL team is mandated to have a schedule five day break from games and practices. It was a disaster last year, and this year had its problems also. I hate it for many reasons. It is not going away, but I have a solution to make it easier to deal with.
