My initial interest in hockey was the inspirational event we now know as the "Miracle On Ice". Growing up just outside of Chicago, I am -- of course -- a huge Blackhawks fan. I went to college at the University of Wisconsin -- Eau Claire, where I attended my first live hockey game...and I was instantly hooked. My interest in hockey has continued to grow organically and exponentially over the years...so much so that I have begun writing freelance articles. I am a self-taught skater, recreational player, and passionate hockey enthusiast.

HOCKEY…FAMILY…two words of six letters each, both ending in “y”. Many people would say “hockey” and “family” have little else in common, but I beg to differ…and strongly so. For me, hockey is all about family…in so many ways...
