The National Hockey League announced that they will not be sending its players to the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang.  What does this mean, I have some questions and how are people reacting?

QUESTIONS?

How does this effect future Olympics?

Why are the players willing to play for free for the IOC but not the NHL?

Why are people mad at the NHL and Gary Bettman when the IOC is as much to blame?

Should owners give their assets for free, or should the IOC pay?

Will players be suspended or released if they leave to play?

If it is not part of the CBA why are the players freaking now and making future CBA threats?

Do the Olympics equal growth in hockey?

Will this end the thought of future World Cup of Hockey events?

No other professional sport shuts their season down for the Olympics, is the NHL obligated to do this?

What will NBC think now that NHL players will not be there and ratings will suffer?

…….just some food for thought.
