Curtis McElhinney found himself in the middle of a scary incident midway through the third period tonight in a game with the Arizona Coyotes. The Columbus Blue Jackets goalie aggressively came out a Coyotes rookie Max Domi rushed in on a partial breakaway. No fault to Domi, but he charged forward reaching for the puck and crashed head on into McElhinney. McElhinney was sent flying straight backwards onto his back and losing his helmet. The scariest part of the incident took place when McElhinney’s head snapped back hitting it on the ice. After a short delay he did stay in the game. The high-scoring game ended with a 7-5 Blue Jackets win. MeElhinney made 27 saves in the win.
