Blake Wheeler matched a single-game career high with four assists to help the Jets extend their point streak to eight games (5-0-3) and improve to 8-3-3 (19 points) overall. The Jets are one game shy of matching the longest point streak in franchise history, a mark set by the Thrashers from Dec. 9-28, 2005 (6-0-3).

Wheeler has collected 4-9—13 in his past five games and 5-16—21 overall this season (14 GP).  He required the second-fewest games in franchise history to hit the 20-point mark in a season, trailing only Ilya Kovalchuk in 2003-04 (13 GP).

Connor Hellebuyck made 33 saves to improve to 8-0-2 this season (2.12 GAA, .936 SV%), extending the longest season-opening point streak by a goaltender in franchise history.

Mark Scheifele netted the second hat trick of his NHL career (also March 5, 2016 vs. MTL) to help the Jets improve to 7-1-2 in their past 10 contests, including three straight wins and points in their last six games (4-0-2).   Scheifele became the third Winnipeg player to record a hat trick this season, joining Nikolaj Ehlers and Blake Wheeler. The Jets lead the League with three hat tricks in 2017-18.  Scheifele’s three-goal performance, which came in the 193rd game of the season, was the 15th hat trick by any player in 2017-18 (197 GP). This marks the ninth time in the past 30 years that there have been at least 15 hat tricks scored in the first 200 games of the season.
