As I looked at the cover of my new Dream Teams magazine from The Hockey News I thought, “Oh, another magazine that tells me the top 50 NHL teams of all time”? Boy, was I wrong. This is quit possibly my favorite hockey magazine of all-time. The Hockey News did a masterful job of breaking down the top 50 NHL hockey factories from the Canadian Hockey League and the NCAA.
The Hockey News panel of judges studied the all-time rosters from all 108 active major junior and NCAA Division 1 teams. They established a line-up of six first team all-stars from each organization. Based on what the players did in the NHL, they determined the top 50 organizations.
It is a wonderful read, and even hockey experts will learn a ton. Along with the all-star teams, each organization is described in detail. Championships are listed, along with past coaches and arena information. Team leaders and draft picks are also listed along with a very interesting player to watch. If that was not enough, there are also numerous feature articles that describe in detail star players experiences while in juniors or college.
I would highly recommend getting out to your local newsstand and purchasing this magazine. It can also be ordered on The Hockey News webpage.
