KINGS’ PEARSON SUSPENDED FOR REMAINDER OF PRESEASON AND TWO REGULAR-SEASON GAMES FOR ILLEGAL CHECK TO THE HEAD.
Los Angeles Kings forward Tanner Pearson has been suspended for the remainder of the preseason and two regular-season games for an illegal check to the head of Edmonton Oilers defenseman Brandon Davidson during NHL Preseason Game No. 59 in Vernon, B.C., on Sunday, Oct. 2, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 11:00 of the second period. Pearson was assessed a match penalty for illegal check to the head and a game misconduct.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Pearson will forfeit $15,555.56. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
