USA CRUISE PAST THE CZECHS
The United States continue to roll in Olympic play. Five different forwards scored as the United States lit up the Czech Republic 5-2. This win advances the US to the semi-final round. The next opponent is big-time rival Canada. The United States played a solid balanced game. Five different players scored. Defenseman Ryan Suter netted one goal and had three assists. Phil Kessel netted his fifth goal of the Olympics, and has been playing like a MVP. Jonathan Quick was solid making 21 saves in the victory. The US has played very well thus far, and everyone is talking about the epic shoot-out win over Russia. All the early success, and memories would be forgotten with a loss to Canada on Friday.
THE QUIET SWEDES KEEP ROLLIN
Sweden handled the hard-working, upset-minded Slovenia team 5-0. New York Rangers netminder Henrik Lundqvist posted the 19 save shut-out for Sweden. Sweden netted four goals in the third period, to roll into the semi-final round. Up next is the chance to advance to the gold medal game. Friday the Swedes must beat rival Finland to have that chance at gold.
