The 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship is set to drop the puck. This will be the 40th World Junior Ice Hockey Championship. It will be hosted in Helsinki in Finland. It begins on December 26, 2015, and will end with the gold medal game being played on January 5, 2016. This marks the sixth time that Finland has hosted the World Juniors. Last time the tournament was held in Helsinki, The United States won the championship.
Ten teams will compete in this years Championship. They will be split into two groups consisting of five teams in each group.
