Luc Robitaille will always be remembered in Los Angeles.  He is one of the greatest Kings of all time.  Known to many as “Lucky Luc”.   Luc Robitaille is one of the greatest left wingers in NHL history.

Robitaille was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in 1984 as the 171st overall selection.  He joined the Kings in 1986, and his success started right away.  He went on to win the Calder Trophy that year.  He scored 45 goals and had 39 assists.

In his first eight seasons with the Kings, Robitaille scored more than 40 goals each year.  That included three fifty plus goal seasons with a career high sixty-three in 1992-93.

In 1994 the super goal scorer was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins for Rick Tocchet and a second round draft pick.  After a very short stint in Pittsburgh he was dealt to the New York Rangers.   That was also short-lived, and in August of 1997 the Los Angeles Kings reacquired the services of Robitalle.

The 2001 season again brought change for Robitaille as he signed with the Detroit Red Wings.  This move allowed the star left winger his only opportunity to hoist the Stanley Cup.

Robitalle then signed as a free agent with the Kings before the 2003-2004 season.  Lucky Luc was back home in LA. He then went on to  pass Marcel Dionne as the leading Kings scorer with 551 goals.

Luc Robitalle holds the NHL record for career goals (668) and points (1,394) by a left winger.  He also holds the single season points record for left wingers with 125 in 1992-93.

Robitaille was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2009.  He will always be remembered as one of the best left wingers of all time, and a Los Angeles Kings great.
