The NHL Trade Deadline is set for Wednesday at 3:00pm est. It is one of the most exciting days of the NHL season. The trades usually come fast and furious. Well that trend started a little bit early this year. Since Feb 24th thirteen significant moves have taken place. Some big names are on the move. Will this help their team win the Stanley Cup. We learned thus far that the Minnesota Wild and Washington Capitals are all in!

- Montreal Canadiens trade F David Desharnais (retains 20% salary) to Edmonton Oilers in exchange for D Brandon Davidson
- Dallas Stars trade D Johnny Oduya to Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for F Mark McNeill and 2018 conditional 4th-round pick
- New York Rangers trade D Mat Bodie to Buffalo Sabres in exchange for F Daniel Catenacci
- Carolina Hurricanes trade F Viktor Stalberg to Ottawa Senators in exchange for 2017 3rd-round pick

- Vancouver Canucks trade F Alex Burrows to Ottawa Senators in exchange for C Jonathan Dahlen
- Dallas Stars trade D Jordie Benn to Montreal Canadiens in exchange for D Greg Pateryn and 2017 4th-round pick
- Tampa Bay Lightning trade F Brian Boyle to Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for 2017 2nd-round pick and F Byron Froese
February 26
- Arizona Coyotes trade F Martin Hanzal, F Ryan White and 2017 4th-round pick to Minnesota Wild in exchange for 2017 1st-round pick, 2018 2nd-round pick, 2019 conditional 4th-round pick and F Grayson Downing. If the Wild win one playoff series, the pick becomes a 3rd; if they win two series, it becomes a 2nd. Hanzal must also play in 50 percent of the games.
