BRUINS’ PASTRNAK SUSPENDED TWO GAMES FOR ILLEGAL CHECK TO THE HEAD

Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak has been suspended for two games, without pay, for an illegal check to the head of New York Rangers defenseman Dan Girardi during NHL Game No. 95 in New York on Wednesday, Oct. 26, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 10:55 of the second period. Pastrnak was assessed a minor penalty for illegal check to the head. Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Pastrnak will forfeit $10,277.78. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
