A quick look at the history of the NHL as the League begins its Centennial Celebration:

31 Number of goaltenders who have won 300 or more games (in the regular season), including active players Roberto Luongo (447), Henrik Lundqvist (390), Marc-Andre Fleury (369) and Ryan Miller (349).

44 Number of skaters who have scored 500 or more goals (in the regular season), including active players Jaromir Jagr (756), Jarome Iginla (616), Alex Ovechkin (542) and Marian Hossa (515).

83 Number of skaters who have recorded 1,000 or more points (in the regular season), including active players Jaromir Jagr (1,891), Joe Thornton (1,366), Jarome Iginla (1,282), Marian Hossa (1,112) and Patrick Marleau (1,052).

100 The NHL will celebrate its 100th birthday on Nov. 26, 2017. The League played its first games on Dec. 19, 1917, with four teams in the inaugural season: the Montreal Canadiens, Montreal Wanderers, Ottawa Senators and Toronto Arenas.

124 Number of venues that have hosted at least one NHL game. That total will rise to 126 with 2017 Scotiabank NHL Centennial Classic and Monday’s 2017 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic.

1,000 Number of players who have won the Stanley Cup since the NHL assumed full control of the trophy in 1927.

7,527 Number of players who have appeared in at least one NHL game (regular season or playoffs).

57,721 Number of games played in NHL history. A total of 53,515 in the regular season and 4,206 in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
