 FANS ELECT DIVISION CAPTAINS FOR 2017 HONDA NHL ALL-STAR GAME

Forwards Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers, defenseman P.K. Subban of the Nashville Predators and goalie Carey Price of the Montreal Canadiens topped their respective divisions in fan votes in the 2017 NHL All-Star Fan Vote to earn the first spots and captaincy in the 2017 Honda NHL All-Star Game in Los Angeles on Sunday, Jan. 29.

Price and Crosby captured the most votes in the Atlantic Division and Metropolitan Division, respectively, while Subban led the Central Division and McDavid topped the Pacific Division.

From Dec. 1 through Jan. 2, fans worldwide were able to cast votes at NHL.com/vote and via the NHL App. Fans were permitted to select as few as one player and a maximum of four players per ballot, without regard to position, with the top vote- getter for each division earning an All-Star berth as division captain. The maximum number of ballots cast per day for each user was 10.

The Los Angeles Kings, who are celebrating their 50th anniversary season, and the city of Los Angeles will host the 2017 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend, Jan. 27-29. The festivities begin with the 2017 Honda NHL All-Star Game will once again feature the 3-on-3 All-Star Tournament, showcasing the NHL’s most talented star players from each division. Introduced at last year’s NHL All-Star Game in Nashville, the All-Star Tournament will feature three 20-minute games, with star players from each Division making up the four All-Star teams: Pacific, Central, Atlantic, and Metropolitan. Each team will be made up of 11 players from each Division: six forwards, three defensemen and two goaltenders.

THE NHL100 on Friday, Jan. 27, continue with the 2017 Coors Light NHL All-Star Skills Competition on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 4 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. ET (NBCSN, CBC, SN, TVAS) and conclude with the 2017 Honda NHL All-Star Game on Sunday, Jan. 31 at 12:30 p.m. PT / 3:30 p.m. ET (NBC, CBC, SN, TVAS) at STAPLES Center.
