The Chicago Blackhawks have completed the unbelievable. Three Stanley Cups in six seasons. That is truly a dynasty. The Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-0 in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final at the United Center in Chicago.
After a scoreless first period that saw the Blackhawks heavily outshot the Lightning 13 to 4, the second period opened up a bit. The Lightning started the period with a huge push, but failed to capitalize on their many opportunities. Chicago goaltender Corey Crawford changed the momentum when he stopped lightning star Steven Stamkos on a breakaway midway through the period. The tide then changed as the Blackhawks began to get some quality chances. At the 17:13 mark of the second period Duncan Keith scored on a rebound that he created. Keith third goal of the playoffs proved to be the game winner.

The third period was back and forth, with both teams seeing scoring chances. Corey Crawford stood strong and preserved the shutout. The Blackhawks sealed the deal at the 14:46 mark of the third period when Patrick Kane capitalized on a beautiful pass from forward Brad Richards. Patrick Kane 11th goal of the playoffs and 2nd of the series was the first two goal lead by a team at any point in the series. That is 355 minutes of one goal hockey, wow!

Duncan Keith was the unanimous decision for the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP. It was his first time winning it, and only the ninth defenseman to ever win the award.
