Things got wild and crazy in Detroit Wednesday night.  In a game where the Detroit Red Wings dominated the Calgary Flames 8-2 the third period got out of hand.  Luke Witkowski fought Brett Kulak just past the midway point of the third period.  Witkowski was lead off the ice with a game misconduct.  On the way, he challenged the Flames bench…then upon being lead off the ice he reemerged and engaged in another altercation on the ice.  This under rule 70.1 should result in an automatic 10 game suspension – let’s see if that happens?

All in all, 111 penalty minutes were assessed in the fractious.
